PARTIAL FUNDS MANAGEMENT/"CARVE OUT" PORTFOLIOS
Many clients feel comfortable in managing short funds through the use of pools, CDs and short agency notes, but do not attempt to purchase securities beyond one year. These longer securities are often subject to higher market risk and require more attention than many clients can provide. As a result, opportunities to increase overall yields are sacrificed. If the client can identify a core amount of funds that can be managed separately, in most cases in a normal yield curve environment, it can produce incrementally higher returns. The client receives the same services as a Total Funds Management client, from policy and strategy review to assistance in security selection and reporting for the portion of assets that are under First Southwest's management.
This service is appropriate for any entity that
is able to carve out at least $20 million of funds with the understanding
that this money will not be required to meet liquidity needs for a period
of one year or more.
